Images have appeared of what purport to be a new Android device from Motorola. One quick glance is all it takes to discern that this device is a non-keyboard version of the Droid. Closer inspection, however, reveals a truly unique feature: an HDMI out port.

TwitterPeek: The Single Purpose Tweeting Device

Peek, the maker of Pronto mobile e-mail devices, has released a standalone device for tweeting on Twitter. That's right, the TwitterPeek lets users only access and update Twitter from a small, pocket calculator-sized device. The device is small, lightweight, and easy to use. But as a standalone device, will it see any pick-up? That's hard to say, but people have purchased stranger things during holidays. EWEEK reviewed the pros and cons of the gadget in this slideshow, runs through what the device looks like from several angles, comparing it side by side to the Motorola Droid and HTC Droid Eris smartphones. - ...

Some good news for users of the Motorola CLIQ. Motorola is offering a system update for the device that makes some major improvements in battery life, screen accuracy and accelerometer accuracy. Too bad the CLIQ is stuck on Android 1.5, though.

Neither Verizon Wireless nor Motorola have reported official sales figures for the Droid smartphone, but estimates place current sales between 700,000 and 800,000. That makes reaching the one million units sold milestone (pun intended) within Motorola's grasp.

Google Phone: Real and Not Rumor or Really Good Rumor?

Gizmodo Nov. 30 cited a trusted source who's seen it with their own eyes, the it being a Google-branded smartphone running a new flavor of Google's Android mobile operating system. Either there is a conspiracy afoot to dupe leading online publications into writing stories to create some sort of fear, uncertainty and doubt about current Android phones, such as the Motorola Droid, or the Google Phone is real. Meanwhile, the aforementioned Droid, that muscular, masculine smartphone with free Google Maps Navigation GPS software is apparently smashing all sorts of Android sales records and could top 1 million units shipped for the year. -

Rumors of the Google Phone appear to not be as exaggerated as many people believe.

News Analysis: The iPhone might be a great device that appeals to many, but the smartphone still lacks several key features that could make it perfect for any user. There is still much that Apple could do to improve it's appeal to business users and to greatly expand the application developer community. -

Apple is at it again. After spending so much
of its time railing against Windows, the company is protecting AT amp;T in its
battle with Verizon Wireless. In a new set of ads, Apple has highlighted all the features that its iPhone has that the
Motorola Droid doesn't. It's a war of

Why The Google Phone Could Dampen Android Phone Sales

Consumers interested in buying phones based on the Android open source operating system may feel some hesitation with the emerging rumors of a Google phone. Such a phone would likely provide a more fully integrated user experience, similar to Apple's iPhone. Ultimately, this could hurt sales of the Motorola Droid, HTC Eris and other Android devices based on hardware from manufacturers and software from Google and application developers. EWEEK looks at the buyer's dilemma here. -

News Analysis: Many of you by now have read about the rumored Google phone, that Google Android operating system-based and
Google-branded smartphone to beat other Android smartphones, and maybe even
Apple's iPhone.
TechCrunch and other blogs are seemingly trying to will

Motorola ‘Buzz` Beats Apple, BlackBerry, Likely Thanks to Droid

The Droid smartphone, which has been described as handsome, masculine and industrial, appears to have made Motorola a hit among men. Motorola was on the rise, while both Apple and BlackBerry fell, according to
data from YouGovs BrandIndex, which interviews 5,000 people each weekday to
gauge consumer brand perception on a day-to-day basis.
